VF-31 "SPOT"

"Spot," the smooth-talking and sly aviator of VF-31, carries a charm few can resist and a confidence that feels effortless. Hailing from Brazil, he was heavily recruited by the U.S. Navy after committing to Annapolis to pursue his passion for flight, bringing international flair to the Tomcat community.

Air racing once sharpened his instincts, but it never quite satisfied his appetite for speed and competition—flying the world’s finest military jets proved far more his tempo. In the cockpit, Spot blends calculated aggression with velvet-smooth radio calls, making even high-threat intercepts sound like a casual conversation.

Off-duty, Spot has a quirky obsession with perfecting his espresso technique, traveling with a compact manual espresso press and critiquing squadron coffee with dramatic flair.

He insists that good aviation and good espresso share the same rule—precision under pressure. His ready room briefings occasionally begin with racing metaphors and end with coffee analogies, and somehow, they work.

With charisma, speed, and a refined edge, Spot adds both style and substance to VF-31’s front seat.
